Are you trying to budget your dream vacation at Walt Disney World®?  Don’t forget to add in the cost of parking.  Disney World recently increased the fees to park at the various theme parks.  All the theme parks charge the same fee to park but the rates vary based on the type of vehicle.  The current rates are as follows per day(10/13/17):

  • Preferred parking: car or motorcycle – $40 USD per day
  • Standard parking: car or motorcycle – $20 USD per day
  • Shuttle, Limo, Camper, Trailer or RV – $22 USD per day
  • Bus or Tractor Trailer – $25 USD per day

Once you pay for the day, you may park at any of the theme parks without paying again the same day.  If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can park for free for the length of your resort stay.  At hotel check-in, they will provide you with a complimentary parking pass if you wish to drive to the parks.  This is an advantage to staying on-site and may be a cost factor when choosing you hotel. Parking is also complimentary for annual pass holders.

A few Disney areas do not charge for parking.  Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have free parking but there is no tram, unlike the other theme parks, so be prepared to walk during busy times.  Also, Downtown Disney and ESPN Wide World of Sports do not charge for parking but there are no buses to the theme parks from either of these locations.  However, you may take a bus to any of the resorts and then catch a bus from the resort to the theme park.  Getting back might be difficult if you stay in the parks late as buses will stop running.
